Processing records for an overlay journal

Bob is an overlay journal editor. His job involves taking recommendations from the wider community and from peer-reviewers regarding appropriate papers to feature in issues of the institution's overlay journal, “This Week in Quantum Chromodynamics”. However, the journal has specific style guidelines and he therefore has to spend a lot of time improving the records that he chooses to feature in his journal, by applying those style guidelines to them – that way they will appear appropriately in the journal layout, which is important to Bob so that they can maintain a professional-looking product. Bob is looking for a way of reducing the amount of time that he needs to spend on fixing issues such as incorrect value encodings, badly or inconsistently produced references and so forth.
