About Us
Formed in June 2000 as a spin-out from the University of Edinburgh by Dr Charles Duncan, Dr Peter Douglas and Dr Martin Morrey, Intrallect is a leading provider of digital object repository software specifically designed for use in the education and training sector.
The company specialises in helping organisations such as universities, colleges, schools, professional bodies and corporates to better manage their digital resources at a strategic level. Intrallect takes an independent approach to developing intraLibrary through providing interoperability with other key learning technologies. The company is an active contributor in the development of industry standards and is currently chairing the IMS working group looking into interoperability standards for learning object repositories.
In 2004, intraLibrary was selected as the software solution for a national repository of learning objects for Higher and Further Education in the UK. JORUM moved into a service phase in 2005, and the JORUM user service was launched in January 2006.
